A true Kaikoura Coast icon, The Store is the ultimate coastal experience. Whether you are on a road trip, enjoying a leisurely Sunday or celebrating with friends, our goal is to provide you with breathtaking views, fresh local seafood and a warm kiwi welcome. Its a pretty special spot.

The Store Functions and Weddings

Venue Hire

The Store is well equipped to host events and weddings of all sizes. There are a number of spaces available for use. The large front lawn is perfect for a ceremony overlooking the sea or even a large marquee. The steps to the deck are ideal for a grand entrance and make for beautiful photos. There are both outdoor and indoor options to allow for events all year around and ensure we always have a ‘Plan B’ on hand. There are a number of beautiful local churches in the area and plenty of visitor parking. We are also ideal for Corporate Events and Staff functions.

Venue Capacity

There is no minimum number of guests for the event although depending on the season, there may be a minimum charge per person should exclusive use of the property be required. The maximum number is 120 guests should you wish to be seated inside. Marquees can accommodate more if required. If you prefer to have a cocktail style function without set seating then larger groups may be possible.

Food & Wine

The menu can be tailored to suit any style of event and can fit all budgets. We can arrange anything from picnic style on the lawn to BBQ style on the deck to formal seated meals.

We serve local wines, a selection of national and local craft beer, spirits, punches and non alcoholic beverages and can work with you to source your preferred brands if required. 

Accommodation

There are a few options for accommodation in the area. Woodside cottage is a beautiful two bedroom cottage just 10 minutes drive from The Store see www.woodsidecottage.co.nz. There is also a B&B across the road www.coastallodge.co.nz and Shearers Quarters on local properties nearby that make for a great adventure for larger groups. We also are happy to have campers along our property neighboring The Store should you hold your event with us.  

The Day After…

The following days are often just as fun as the functions themselves. We are happy to arrange brunch or even a relaxed crayfish lunch for day after gatherings.
